Long time no blog...

It's been a while since I last posted any updates here. I guess with the way social media is expanding its little surprise that more blogs aren't closing up shop.
If you think about it, the whole way people express themselves online has been divided into different services depending on how much they want to put across.
  • Twitter for the short and snappy
  • Facebook for the slightly longer piece
  • Blogs for even longer
Google+ has attempted to cover all areas and unfortunately only those who understand it's benefits are using it. Until they release the an API to allow 3rd party posting, persuade more people that facebook isn't the only place to post nonsense

Personally I don't tend to write much anyway, so blogger, with its G+ integration is a little lost on me again. Maybe I should post more often, and let it tie itself in to G+. After all the main bonus to Google having so many underlying options available to it is that it all ties together. If you actually break down the features offered by facebook, there isn't really anything there that isn't available within the Google sphere. In fact, Google offer even more (eg Docs\Drive). The only thing facebook has is users and activity...

G+ needs to look at how it looks, make it more attractive to those that don't want to spend a lot of time on the page trying to find content. Twitter's short and snappy approach works a treat for those who just like to take a glance at life outside their own.

Anyway, thats enough waffle there for now. Maybe I'll blog again at some point now that I appear to have this tied to G+. Maybe I'll feed my G+ into Twitter and then into facebook... who knows. Until sharing comments and friends across multiple services kicks in, things will never merge and an online social atmosphere, will never replicate real life.
